Experiential Guidelines | Immersive Design | Exhibition Stand
Following a recent rebrand Index Exchange, an innovator in the adtech sector, approached These Days to create a set of Experiential Guidelines for them; an articulation of how best to bring to life their shiny new brand in a physical setting.
Experiential Guidelines can be an incredibly useful tool for brand marketers. A set of rules to create consistency across a broad spectrum of live experiences.
We generally start by honing in on a overarching aesthetic concept that pairs with the look and feel of your brand, before diving into more specific choices around colour, materiality, shape and accents.
For Index we settled on a concept of Modern Scandinavian. A warm, inviting and neutral palette which balanced well with their new brand identity. We envisioned their spaces to be simple and light, with a blend of comfortable and functional furniture. Pairing the physical environment with their bold new forest green colour.
The First Iteration
DMEXCO, an adtech conference in Cologne Germany, was the first live iteration of our experiential guidelines.
We aimed to transform the traditional technology exhibition booth into a warmer and calmer environment. The design centred around a beautiful bar area and comfortable seating spaces, encouraging guests to socialise, network, and connect with the Index team in a relaxed setting.
In addition to the open, inviting atmosphere, we integrated private meeting rooms into the stand design. These secluded spaces provided the perfect environment for one-on-one meetings or confidential discussions, ensuring that business conversations could take place in comfort and privacy.
We partnered our warm wood palette with bold block colours and simplified messaging and brand marks throughout. Details in the craftsmanship, as always fundamental to our ethos, came in the shape of fluted walls and a statement grid hanging system.
Future Facing
The experiential guidelines quickly became a key tool for Index as they activated at CES, Cannes and other events throughout the adtech calendar. Rather than having to start from scratch at each event, the guidelines could be utilised for hotel suite takeovers, exhibition halls and various other unusual spaces. They had a set of rules to help transform each of their event spaces into a consistent series of activations rather than one off, stand alone events.
